Just a note for you, we stayed at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap, also in the winter time and they upgraded us to a suite even though we had no elite status at the time. At least as far as we were concerned, they are very generous with suite upgrades

Ben, this is very generous -albeit, left to the last minute so you can get the Elite night credits. I doubt if Hyatt is going to appreciate this. Also, I'm curious, if someone misbehaves at the hotel (and then they connect the GOH cert back to you, that could be an issue for you!.
I'm only giving them out to people I know and trust. I would love to join in on here and offer up some GOH certs that I have left, but I'm not sure its worth the trouble unless I know I would not be liable for any damage or legal issues that arise with that person's stay.

Got 1-night at Hyatt Regency Taoyuan Airport (newly reflagged from Novotel) on 30th Jan. If you still have any Club Awards that would be appreciated, otherwise put it to better use with someone who has a longer stay. I will be having a friend reunion from Dec 31 till Jan 4! I personally is a globalist, but none of my friends are (3 rooms worth of friends), so if I can get any guest of honor for them, that would be amazing!
By design or an unintended consequence, the award giveaway is a puzzle...
After the flood of award giveaway requests that World of Hyatt is being tasked to handle, one suspects that the program managers are likely to see the madness of making awards transferable, and to redesign or revise how the various milestone rewards perks are earned so as to avoid their complete devaluation, which is what we are witnessing in real time.
One simple fix, for instance, might be to exclude Globalists, who already have club access as an elite perk, from earning club access awards as a milestone perk that they have no use for. In fact, one question to ponder is whether the deluge of club access awards will make the few remaining Hyatt Club lounges seem like Delta Sky Club lounges. Along the same vein, the plethora of Guest of Honors awards being gifted bring to mind the saying that if "everyone is an elite then no one is". In short, it is unclear what the upside of these award giveaways might be either for Hyatt or for World of Hyatt elite members.
Another consideration is that the award giveaways, while legit, may also be highly susceptible to misuse or abuse, as some rogue elements overseas may devise fraudulent ways to monetize them rather than simply giving them away. The recent UrCove debacle in which WoH members lost their accounts and all their content for simply participating in a fraudulent scheme engineered by some UrCove hotels in China is a cautionary tale:

As to what the consequences might be, I will spell it out for you since what's obvious always escapes trolls: try accessing a Hyatt Club lounge after every Globalist with tons of Club Access Awards gives them away. Same thing with Guest of Honor awards that gives elite perks to everyone. It's called the devaluation of elite perks and status.

I would greatly appreciate the gift of a Suite Upgrade award! I have a Mom's getaway/ski trip to Vermont January 30-February 3 and it sounds amazing to be have the extra room of a suite rather than the standard room available with Hyatt points. However, since the GOA certs are good for 24 months after earning them, they can be quite lucrative as a way to travel with Globalist benefits or to facilitate requalification for Globalist, which, of course, you do not need as a LT Globalist, but you could run up your nights total to earn even more milestone perks 😉
I could use GOH for either on my confirmed stays in Japan in January!
Otherwise, a SUA would be helpful in Thailand in February.

In your experience, after gifting a GOH award to someone, will your elite night credit post to your account at the same time as the stay posts for the person who received and applied your gifted GOH? (i.e. typically within 48 hours if checkout)
