Cathay Pacific / Asia Miles

Cathay Pacific / Asia Miles

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi,

I have a over 200K miles with Marco Polo / Cathay – their redemption rates are pretty high and wondering if you think I should use on other One World carriers for better deals? Should I check on other airlines sites and will they allow me to use my Cathay miles?

    Thank you

    Ray

Ray, regardless of what airline your flights are on, you’ll still be using Cathay’s award chart because you’ll have to redeem the miles via the Marco Polo website or call center.

Marco Polo is CX’s elite status program but your miles are with AsiaMiles. You can check for awards on Cathay’s website but they dont show all OW partners. check for space via BA/JL/QF/AA and call. There are different award charts, one for travel on Cathay, Cathay + partners and partners only. They are all distance based though. Personally with that many miles, I’d wait list for CX F JFK-HKG round trip. I’ve done that a few times and never had the wait list not clear.
