Breaking Into the Travel Consulting Business

Breaking Into the Travel Consulting Business

    Hi Ben,

I am a long time reader of your blog and love all things travel and maximizing points and have been able to take some awesome trips on points alone. I was trying to maximize points for a group of my friends over Christmas and one of them suggested that I should do this as a job (even without me telling them that one of my favorite bloggers does that exact thing :). This got me thinking, how would someone get into the Travel Consulting business, similar to what you do? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Best,
    Brad

My suggestion would be to check in with Award Booking Services to see if/when they have an opening. In the mean time keep on top of stuff by reading blogs/flyer talk and helping friends and family with bookings. I think the sweet spot for opening a new mileage redemption service has probably passed unless you can offer something significantly different.
