BA first

Hi All, thanks in advance for the thoughts. I’m luckily enough to be in business on BA from ord to Lhr on a Sunday night at 840pm in august. Work has paid but there are first class seats available for upgrade. Is it worth it? Can I use aa points? Or should I transfer chase to avois? It seems grandiose to upgrade but I love trying new products and this seems like a cheapest opportunity to get into first (I know it’s not amazing)

It depends on who issued your ticket. If it was issued by AA (ticket number starts with 001) then I think you can use AA miles to upgrade. If it was issued by BA you’d need Avios to upgrade.

I did F over and J coming back. The bed on the overnight was amazingly nice. FAs were perfect. Coming back during the day in Business was nice but nothing above and beyond. In Business you have to make sure that (1) you are not in an aisle and (2) you don’t have someone waking you up as one needs to cross over the other to get to the aisle. There are only a few better seats that avoid that. In my case, BA changed mine out – without telling me.

Midsouth thanks for that. It’s a TA booking but aa booking in I class so I may be unable to use Avios or aa points 🙁

Thanks midsouth. I def want a window so I have no one crawling over me. They swapped your seat out?? That happened to me in February on aa. Every time I logged in my chosen seat had moved to one of the open aisle ones. I’m upstairs in 63k at the moment. Window non exit.
