Avios or AAdvantage

Avios or AAdvantage

From Canada and have a RBC Avion credit card with point for point transfers to Avios and AA. On May 2nd however they are changing the transfer to AA to a 70% ratio (10 Avion gets you 7 AA). Are the AA worth enough more to transfer all my points before the change?

Ben values AA miles at 1.5 cents (USD) and Avios at 1.3 cents each. But their value to you may be different. Avios are best on non-stop flights where BA doesn’t impose their fuel surcharge while AA only imposes fuel surcharges on flights on BA/IB metal.

We’d need to know more about your flight patterns to be able to recommend what works best for you.
