AB Lost/Delayed Baggage Tracing

AB Lost/Delayed Baggage Tracing

  1. P_SF New Member

I flew AB business class yesterday ARN-DUS-SFO, and my priority checked bag didn’t make it. The AB process for locating misrouted baggage I cannot understand. The local handlers took my claim, but said they didn’t have access to the relevant system to be able to look at the bag tag history to determine where the last point of scan occurred. With over 24 hours since the flights departed Europe, the bag trace is “pending” per their online status engine – without any information as to where the bag may be, or how it will be routed to SFO. They provided a contact to a vendor which they stated handles baggage tracing on their behalf, but they do not pick up the +49 number. Even after escalating to supervisors at the service center, no one is empowered to make a phone call to an AB airport office to reference the bag tag, which would take a short time to pull up in the system the bag scan history. I’ve phoned AMEX and their Premium Travel Assist department is assisting with this, but they also only have email contacts with AB. Is there any other avenue to pursue to break through this wall of no information? AB will wait 5 days before declaring the baggage lost, and there’s no evidence that anything is being done at present to declare the bag misdirected. Thanks.
