rtwtravelerI currently have an AA award ticket on hold for the summer. I found a different itinerary that I prefer and want to change it. Is it possible to make this change online? or does it need to be done by phone? If online, what is the procedure?

Hey rtw – you can have multiple itineraries on hold at the same time. Book the second – put it on hold – make sure it is what you want, and then cancel the first, or just allow the first to expire.
This works as long as you don’t need your seat from the first hold for one of the legs – meaning there are no other award seats available. I assume this is not the case because you said you found a new itinerary, but perhaps you mean to change just part of it.
In that case I would call in.
