Miles and More points earned on MUC-SCL

Miles and More points earned on MUC-SCL

  1. Ben Holz Gold

Hey guys, I will be travelling from August 15th until the 19th from MUC-SCL via GRU, with LH J, TAM J on the way there and then LA J and LH J on the way back. Just before buying the ticket, I started doing some research as to how many miles I would earn (I am pretty new to miles and opened my M&M account recently), however when trying to calculate the milage from MUC-SCL it does not recognise SCL airport, is there some reason for this? Should I call LH?

The website which I was trying to do this with is: https://meilenrechner.de/earn_miles.php?language=eng

Thanks in advance for the help

@Ben Holz, have you tried wheretocredit.com?

  4. Ben Holz Gold

Hey @Gaurav I just checked and I think I will be earning around 18k miles. The thing is that I could not credit any miles to my LAN and TAM flights, given that they are OneWorld. I thought that either the Air Berlin or Iberia program would be the best options given that I have a residence in both Spain and Germany. Which one would you recommend to credit these miles to? I believe IB will be better since I fly to MAD 1/2 times per year.

Btw sorry for the latency of the response and thanks for your help

Actually I can indeed credit my TAM flight to M&M, so that is another 2400 miles

@Ben Holz, I would double check on the TAM and miles and more option. I know TAM and LAN are integrating and LATAM will be part of the OW alliance. M&M still lists TAM as a partner while LATAM does not do that in reverse. I’m sure things are in flux so make sure you check when you are flying.

In terms of deciding where to credit, consider what you will earn but also where you will earn in the future and what kind of redemptions you are aiming for. If you are only able to credit occasional trips to an account it may take a long time to build up enough miles for a redemption so in some cases it may be better to earn a little less for a given trip if you are going to be able to accumulate a sizable amount in a given program.
