BA Executive Club vs American AAdvantage
Hi,
Over the past few months I have been thinking about switching to AAdvantage from BA Executive Club as the earn on economy tickets seemed a bit better as I do a fair bit of flying in both the continental US and Europe (although my international flights are with Virgin).
I have been keeping a watch on the recent changes to AAdvantage and was wondering what program would be better to pursue elite status in given that I do the same amount of flying in both the US and Europe domestically a year.
Thanks!
hi @Jayden, welcome. Have you done the math to see how much elite status would earn you one versus the other while flying and considered which mileage program would offer you better award options for the trips you want to take? AA has made elite qualification easier for 2016 so that may be something to consider. I think the two biggest factors are the fact that BA charges significant surcharges on award tickets and the zone based awards on AA vs distance based awards on BA and how they work for you.
