Hi Guys,

I booked SFO-MIA-MCO on AA (no status)back in december, leaving 9:35pm arrive in MIA 6;01am, and leaving MIA 9:25 arrive MCO 10:33.
I got an email from aa and they changed my flights to Leaving 9:28pm – 6:03am and leaving 6:57am-8:04am.

I was hoping to get a good shower breakfast, and drinks before our final destination in MCO.

Can I and Would it be worth it to request AA to change my second leg to a later hour, similar to our original booking? or should i just say f*ck it and get to MCO earlier? I doubt hyatt grand cypress will let us check in that early though.

Second Part. Does anyone know how the 500miles upgrades are processed? where would i be placed on the upgrade list compared to gold/plat/pro?

I would call AA and ask to change your 2nd flight. It’s a schedule change and they should work with you.

You’d be on the bottom of the list for upgrades. However, ask if there is any confirmable upgrade space? I did a miles+cash upgrade once, there was space available and was upgraded immediately. I dont know if it works the same though.

I’m pretty sure you can’t use 500 mile upgrades if you have no status. I assume you earned them at a point when you had status? AA actually keeps the certificates in your account, even though you can’t use them without status.

As for a shower, you can always access the AA Lounge at D15 area. They have showers, it is newly renovated and very nice. Day pass (or Admirals Membership) gains easy access.
