Chances of United waiving change fee for students

Chances of United waiving change fee for students

I’m a college student flying from DTW to IAH on United next week and just realized that I have an exam on the day I’m supposed to fly out. The exam date was changed last minute. Would this be a plausible argument to have the change fee waived? Thanks!

Unfortunately, I doubt it… but anything is worth a try!

Also, you could look at not cancelling and just no-show for the flight. Sometimes the cancellation fee is actually more expensive than outright buying a new ticket. Not sure if you’ll have luggage or anything, but there are literally $35 tickets on that route next week on Spirit, and $94 on Delta (basic economy).

Gave them a call last night. The really kind representative told me she’ll “waive the fee one time for me” and just ended up paying the difference in ticket price. @rickyw would’ve been open to flying Delta. McNamera Terminal is exponentially better than North. Plus skyclub access!
