Using miles for premium economy
Hi
Hubby and I have just booked a cruise out of Auckland, and I’m looking at Air New Zealand premium economy. A round trip is not cheap and I’m wondering about whether it is possible to use United miles given NZ is a star alliance partner. Forgive my newbie questions:

[*]How do you even get to award partners on the united site?
[*]Is there even an award level of premium economy

Thanks
Neil
UA currently does not allow awards for premium economy at all so you wouldnt be able to use UA miles nor would award space show up on United’s website. Star Alliance partners show up automatically on UA’s award search, assuming award space is available. There isn’t anything special you need to do to find partner award space.
If you have a way to get Aeroplan miles, they can be used for Premium Economy – 135k round trip. Taxes and fees are also low – fuel surcharges are not passed on. However, availability is an issue. Historically, NZ doesnt really release that many award seats, especially not for premium cabins.
