Lounge Access

Lounge Access

My family and I are all flying Swiss business class from Zurich to O’Haire later this summer, then connecting on a UA domestic flight I haven’t yet booked. Will we have any lounge access in Chicago as a result of the Swiss business flight? Thanks.

@MattFL as a result of the Swiss business flight the answer is no. You may get access based on the new flight but that would be to a United Club, not Polaris which is strictly for international premium class. I believe you would have gotten access to Polaris has the United domestic been a part of the Swiss business ticket.

Why didn’t you book everything as one?

    Hello,

IMHO, unless there is a so called “Arrival lounge”, you will be denied entry to any business lounge.

You have to book the UA domestic flight in business too, in order to get access to their lounge in Chicago.

@Jent correct, however there are no *A arrival lounges at ORD Term 5. The only lounges that can be used for transfers are in the domestic terminals. The only shower services for United are now in the Polaris lounge (Domestic Terminal 1 Concourse C) as United Clubs in Terminal 1 don’t have showers anymore.

thanks everyone. These were five Swiss awards booked with Lifemiles. Our final destination is Jacksonville FL and there is no saver award seats for the JAX flights from ORD. I do have a full admirals club membership that I can get the whole family in. Any recommendations on which is best? We will have several hours.

ORD is my home airport. The L admirals club recently opened (so I haven’t been) and is probably new and nice, but probably smaller. The H/K admirals club is the main club and the biggest, but hasn’t been refurbished yet. It also gets petty crowded now since half of it is closed due to refurbishment. The G admirals club is very nice (has been refurbished) and is descent sized. I’d go with the G admirals club. The G admirals club is also closest to terminal 1 and 2 which is what UA use.
