Is this Routing allowed?

Is this Routing allowed?

Hi Guys im checking Awardace and awardhacker for SYD-PVG.

Both are listing 50K AA miles for SYD-AUH-PVG in F . From the looks of it, I dont think this routing will work as SYD-PVG direct <5000miles flown, and SYD-AUH-PVG would come out to be 11k+miles.

    This is correct?

Correct. Someone can chime in too, but I believe that maximum American allows is 25% over the direct routing, so you’re well over.

Also, I think you break the rule of transiting a third region (South Pacific to Middle East to Asia 2)

However, if it’s listing on the AA site, why not try to go through to booking and see what happens? Maybe it is indeed a loophole
