Booking lap child on KLM with miles

Booking lap child on KLM with miles

My wife and I are looking to book an award redemption on KLM and will be taking our 4 month old with us. I know we have to call KLM to book the lap child because we will have to pay for it since it is an international flight. But do we have to do that at the time of booking the flight or can we book online and then call later.

A few reasons we might want/need to do this is we can split the charge for the ticket fees and the lap child on two cards that have travel refunds. And out son isn’t born yet so we don’t have a name or birth date.

Yep, you can do it later on — just make sure to do it before you travel, and ideally more than 6 weeks in advance to keep the price down.
