AA Web Special Fares – Canceling

AA Web Special Fares – Canceling

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi All

I have a domestic r/t booked with AAvantage Miles under a web special. The usual mantra is no changes but can redeposit for a fee. Does anyone know if this is still the case? Or can changes be made or a redeposit for no fee? Not scheduled to travel until 4/7 and 4/21 but I’m sure the all clear will not have been given by then.

    Thanks!

I too would like to know the answer to this. I have a flight booked under the same terms, but in July. Praying this whole ordeal settles by then and I wont have to deal with AA in the end.

I looked at my reservation today and this is now at the top of the page. Doesn’t address if there is a cost to redeposit but looks like change can happen for sure.

You can cancel your trip online, and your miles will be safe. There’s no need to call right now. When you’re ready to travel again, or simply want your miles back, you can contact us.

    I saw that too!

I actually was able to cancel my July reservation and get my miles reinstated for no charge because my flight schedule changed by more than an hour. So I lucked out there. I called the AAdvanatge Desk phone number (800-882-8880) and it was only a 20-30 minute call back wait time. Their Twitter team also seems to be answering more quickly if you want to ask about your reservation there too. The agent I spoke to was super friendly and the call was seamless! I was able to get my points back in my account in less than a day (reinstatement takes some time, sometimes 48-72 hours). I have a feeling that AA would be able to reinstate your miles for no charge given the circumstances. I’d give them call or send them a DM on twitter… or both! You never know who will respond first! Good luck!
