AA Award Change Rules
I have two BA F itineraries on hold with AA right now–one is the ideal routing (LHR-SJC on the 789) but on a worse date (I’d have to cut my trip a day short), and the other is on a better date but the routing is much less convenient (LHR-JFK-LAX with long layovers and I’d need to book a positioning flight).
If I book the preferred routing, is there a way to change the date I fly later on, or would there have to be award space on my preferred date for me to change to that date? What if I called on the day of my travel to push my flight back one day?
Alternatively, if I book my preferred date, is there a way to change my routing as long as my origin/destination stay the same, or would there have to be award space on the more ideal routing for me to change to that routing?
Thanks for the help! Huge fan of the blog.
@Jack attack — You can change the dates or routing as long as the origin and destination remain the same, but you’ll need award space on whichever flights you’re looking at. Hope that helps!
Also AA has a close in fee of $75, just something to keep in mind.
