LOT Polish Airlines Unveils New Business Class Amenities, Tableware, And More

22

It’s an exciting time for LOT Polish Airlines, as the Star Alliance carrier is overhauling its long haul passenger experience. In the coming months, the airline will start retrofitting its Dreamliners, including rolling out a new business class product. The airline will also introduce inflight connectivity in partnership with Viasat, which is long overdue.

The airline isn’t stopping there, though. LOT is also updating its inflight soft product, as the airline is introducing new meals, amenities, and more.

LOT introduces new business class travel experience

As of August 2026, LOT is introducing new meals, amenities, and overall cabin presentation, on its long haul flights.

To start, the airline is rolling out a new amenity kit, with two color options (navy blue and copper). The amenity kits have products from Polish brand Phenomé, with the addition of products like facial mist and eye patches.

The airline is also expanding a signature skincare ritual, developed in collaboration with Polish brand HDRÈY. It will feature a set of three products — Full HA Micellar Water, Glass Skin MASK, and Glass Skin SERUM — all of which are designed to be complementary.

Then the airline is adding new headphones, which reportedly have a more ergonomic design, soft ear pads, and a noise cancellation feature.

In recent weeks, the airline has also started rolling out tableware from Manufaktura in Bolesławiec, with pottery designed specifically for LOT. The catch is that this is only available on flights to Asia at the moment, so you won’t find this on North America routes. Hopefully it expands further in the coming months.

Here’s how Izabela Leszczyńska, LOT’s Director of Product Development and Customer Experience, describes this:

“Crafting the LOT Business Class experience resembles working on a well-designed space – what matters is not just one eye-catching detail, but the well-matched character of all aspects of the journey. All new products, from pottery to cosmetics and headphones, have been introduced with the goal of creating a consistent and refined whole. Collaboration with Polish brands is a natural part of this approach. Thanks to them, we are setting a standard that is showcased on board our aircraft and promoted globally. Ultimately, the passengers are the ones who will judge the final outcome of the changes. We do hope they will discover what was our guiding principle – attention to quality, functionality, and the tiniest of details.”

LOT’s business class is becoming really competitive

LOT doesn’t get a whole lot of attention globally, but in my opinion the airline is better than most people assume. I flew LOT’s business class across the Atlantic a few years back, and it was pleasant in terms of the food, service, etc.

As I see it, the two big issues were the outdated seats and lack of Wi-Fi. With LOT now totally revolutionizing its long haul business class hard and soft product, I think LOT might become an airline that’s actually worth seeking out across the Atlantic (or at least that isn’t worth avoiding).

LOT Polish Airlines’ old 787 business class

While we should see LOT’s first plane with the new interiors entering service in the coming months, the issue is that the rollout is expected to take all the way through 2030. I get that the airline wants to control costs, but with a fleet of just 15 Dreamliners, that’s quite a long time period over which to do that, especially since the goal is presumably to start generating more revenue thanks to the better product. It’s always tough when a fleet is only partly retrofitted, since it leaves lots of people disappointed.

Bottom line

In the near future, LOT Polish Airlines will be rolling out new long haul cabins, along with Viasat Wi-Fi. On top of that, the airline is updating its long haul business class soft product as of August 2026, including new amenities, tableware, and more.

It’s great to see the transformation at LOT, I just wish that the fleet overhaul would be completed before 2030.

What do you make of LOT’s passenger experience investments?

It's good to see that they're finally stepping up their game with the business class product. However, the main reason why I keep avoiding them is their operations and planning. It's still happening too often that flights get delayed or cancelled for unknown reasons, disrupting travel plans. Information is then usually lacking and you're met with a long queue and a blank stare if you're asking for a bit of assistance.

LOT needs to move to OneWorld. LH really punishes them and OS is a direct competitor in Eastern Europe. OneWorld is really weak in CEE and LOT could fix that overnight.

Flown many times within Europe, but never from US. Last repot I got from a family member was that WAW to LAX was terrible in every way. I would like to think it is getting better, but I doubt it.

Recently flew the 787 of of LAX to Warsaw Business class , definitely would not do it again. 6 hr delay due to plane computer problems, outdated seats no wifi delayed bags (for a week) for a cost comparable to a tier 1 airline.

Flying LAX-WAW in a few weeks in J. I booked this ages ago and considering routing through ORD in hopes the new seats would be out, but glad I didn’t take that gamble now. Looking forward to the new amenity kit tho :)

I've flown LO a few times in the past couple of years and they don't really seem much different than most European airlines nowadays. Not much different than LH in my opinion and they do seem to be improving. They are getting a couple of additional 787s from Thai this year if I remember correctly and will have the new business class. Once they have that installed across the fleet, they'll probably be quite nice....

I know it's a long way off but WAW is building a massive new airport too.

Oh, they are much better than LH. On every European, including domestic, flight you’re served a snack plus water (economy). On longer European flights you have a whole selection of beverages including wine and beer (economy). Plus, if you have a status in Miles and More, even with the basic economy fare you’re allowed to check in one piece of luggage, contrary to LH Group.

One of the most underrated airlines. Their crew are fantastic, the food is plentiful and delicious plus WAW is a great airport to transit and arrive in. I’m glad they’re investing on a better hard product and elevating what is already a good soft product. Excited for what’s to come with LOT!

Is it a joke? LOT is horrible in every way: terrible hard product with abysmal screens, okay service, and barely edible food. WAW as a connection point isn't great either... claustrophobic business lounges from a bygone era.

It must be a joke indeed. Of the cca 20x airlines I've flown in the past three years, LOT's is definitely the absolutely worst. I was somewhat forced to use them in their WAW-ICN route due to scheduling issues, and I regretted it every single time. If you have encountered a senior (&quasi senile) AA FA in a sought after Asia route, multiply the attitude times three and you get a LOT flight attendant. Add...

Add to it the filthy 787s, broken IFE, late departures with no explanation and food that could have been hospital level in 1988's Albania and you will realize that using Korean, Swiss or China Airlines is a much better deal.

I think you forgot to add the '/s'

Either that, or you're employed by the airline or somehow paid to type this. There's still a LOT to avoid with that airline...

LOT is still horribly outdated (the wet-leased 777 on the JFK-WAW route is even worse than the Dreamliners) and light years away from becoming a competitive option for TATL. I unfortunately fly it a lot (pun not intended), and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, unless you desperately need a one-stop connection to some of the niche airports in CEE (Cluj Napoca, anyone?).

Wifi is already operational on some 787s - I was surprised to see...

I mean, LHG's CEE coverage is fairly solid and there are few airports served by LO and not LHG-airlines (Oradea is the only non-Polish one at first sight, but there could be one or two more). As someone who despite living in Germany actively avoids LH; LH,LX and even backtracking with TK seem like better TATL alternatives to CLJ than LO.

They'll be competitive when they finish installing 1-2-1 seats.

Otherwise they're still Lufthansa tier in my books, and I shan't be flying them.

    1. Throwawayname Guest

As long as you have the option to choose a seat in the middle pair, 2-2-2 isn't a huge issue.

  9. AceQuik Guest

All looks good and nice to see the use of Polish suppliers. With the plans for their new transit hub as well, maybe they can compete with the three big European groups without being eaten up?

    1. Throwawayname Guest

Poland's got nearly 40 million inhabitants and it's growing quite rapidly as an economy. LOT should definitely be capable of operating independently, though I do think they should try to at least form close partnerships with an airline from Asia and one from the Americas. As an example, Avianca no longer fly to MUC, perhaps they should get them to come over to Poland instead and offer them feed from across Central Europe, the Baltics and Scandinavia.

    2. Samo Diamond

LOT not only has the ambition to stay independent, they even aim to become part of a future EU4. Unfortunately, every single expansion plan they had so far failed (BUD base, Condor acquisition and most recently the Smartwings deal)...

They're also introducing more service to Asia, including HAN, and clearly there's more room for growth there than anything transatlantic.

The seats are very comfortable due to no cubby holes for your feet.
