Futuristic Hotel Indigo Changi Airport Opening 2028

Futuristic Hotel Indigo Changi Airport Opening 2028

10

Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) is already regarded as one of the world’s best airports, and it just keeps getting better. The airport will be getting another landside hotel, which looks pretty swanky.

Details of the new Hotel Indigo Changi Airport

Hotel Indigo Changi Airport is expected to open in 2028. The hotel will be located in the public area of the airport, in the location of the current coach stand at Terminal 2. The hotel will offer easy access to the terminal, and from there you’ll easily be able to get to other parts of the airport.

The property will feature 255 rooms, and like most updates to Changi, it looks mighty futuristic. The hotel will boast a rooftop restaurant and bar, and an infinity pool overlooking the runway. The hotel’s design will also be heavily focused on greenery, and will include a “floating forest,” with plants hanging over seven floors.

Hotel Indigo Changi Airport will be Singapore’s first net-zero emissions hotel, and for that matter, the first net-zero airport hotel in the world. This will be done through the use of solar panels, hybrid cooling systems, naturally ventilated corridors, and rainwater-harvesting technology.

For those not familiar with Hotel Indigo, the hotel brand belongs to IHG. Hotel Indigo is an upscale brand, and the properties are intended to have a bit of character, and reflect the neighborhoods that they’re in.

This joins two other hotels at Changi Airport

Changi Airport already has an impressive number of accommodation options. In the public areas of the airport, you already have the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport (located in Terminal 3) and the Yotel Changi Airport (located in The Jewel), both of which are great.

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

On top of that, there are several airside transit hotels at the airport, for guests who are connecting in Singapore, but don’t want to clear immigration.

Hotel Indigo looks like it’ll be the best hotel at the airport, and I can’t wait to check it out when it opens. However, from a loyalty program perspective, I’m disappointed by the lack of variety here. Both Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo belong to IHG One Rewards, so you’d think that they could have mixed up the branding a bit more when awarding this contract, and could have introduced a Hilton, or Hyatt, or Marriott, or anything else.

The Jewel Changi Airport

Bottom line

The 255-room Hotel Indigo Changi Airport is expected to open in 2028, and will be located at Terminal 2. This will be the third landside hotel at the airport, and should be the nicest of all. The hotel’s design looks gorgeous, and it’s also cool how it will be net-zero. While I would’ve preferred for it to be branded differently, I’m still looking forward to staying here!

What do you make of the plans for Hotel Indigo Changi Airport?

    Hey Lucky,

Somewhat unrelated, but they're finally building a new passenger terminal at DWC.

"Naturally ventilated corridors"? You mean they'll open the windows?!

Zero Energy LMAO. FYI Solar power is "energy" I think Ben is too woke to understand basic scientific concepts anymore.

You mean net zero/zero carbon emission ?

Zero energy just does not make any sense since the hotel definitely needs ‘energy’ to run

You understand zero carbon but not zero energy?

If a hotel "definitely needs ‘energy’ to run" then a power source "definitely produces ‘carbon’ to generate"

And even the whole carbon thing is a all fake. But somehow they were able to spin it in a positive way.
You plant trees for ever carbon you burn and all is well.
So does a doctor have a right to murder for ever life that doctor...

Or better yet, can you buy a "save life" credit from a bunch of doctors and become a legal hitman?
      Most f**** up logic ever.

Poor analogy. Energy is fungible, human lives are not.

Eskimo, in case you're not trolling:
I'm sure we all learned about the carbon cycle in school. Reducing carbon emissions isn't about eliminating carbon because that doesn't work. The sum of carbon on Earth is always the same. The purpose of reducing carbon emissions is reducing the amount of carbon that is in the atmosphere creating a greenhouse effect. Planting trees moves the carbon from the atmosphere into the tree itself through photosynthesis, until...

      @David

      Who determines that?
      Destroying the planet is fungible?
But non fungible humans don't need a planet to live?
      Poor argument.

      @YYC-ZRH
You are correct, but you're missing the whole point.
But I'm not surprised that you think when I use the word carbon it literally meant the element carbon. Since these days PC has made the choice of words always an issue to distract what is really the real issue.

Stayed at the YOTEL two weeks ago. While convenient, it’s not particularly pleasant as many of the rooms are poorly ventilated and have mould.
