Los Cabos, Mexico, has no shortage of luxury hotels that are already open, and in the pipeline. We can now add another one to the list…
In this post:
Basics of the Conrad Los Cabos, Mexico
Hilton has signed an agreement with Parks Hospitality Holdings to open a Conrad property in Los Cabos, Mexico. The resort is expected to open in 2027, though I wouldn’t count on that timeline, since new developments rarely open on time (and often don’t open at all). While this will be the first Conrad property in the Baja California peninsula, Hilton currently has either other properties there.
The Conrad Los Cabos is expected to feature 175 accommodations, including 111 guest rooms, 21 suites, and 43 residences:
- The rooms will feature a minimum of 500 square feet of interior space, more than 200 square feet of outdoor living space, and private plunge pools
- The suites will overlook beaches and will feature oversized plunge pools
- The residences will feature two to four bedroom layouts, with expansive terraces and outdoor living spaces
While exact details about the property remain limited, the expectation is that the Conrad Los Cabos will have a 3,000 square foot spa with 10 treatment rooms, a fitness center, numerous resort-style pools, and five dining venues. Those dining venues will be comprised of an all-day restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a pool bar and grill, a beach bar and grill, and a lobby bar.
The Conrad Los Cabos will be located within OLEADA Pacific Living & Golf, a new 860-acre oceanfront resort community on the southern point of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, with a one mile stretch of beach. It will be just 15 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas. This will be the location of World Golf Hall of Famer Ernie Els’ first golf course in Mexico.
Below you can find some renderings of the Conrad Los Cabos. The resort looks absolutely massive, but that seems to be because of how big the accommodations are, as there will be well under 200 keys.
This seems like a nice addition to the Hilton portfolio
As I’ve written about in the past, I enjoy vacationing in Los Cabos. The service is amazing (hospitality is great in Mexico in general, and is even more elevated in Los Cabos), the food is delicious, the climate couldn’t be better, I love the rugged desert-meets-ocean landscape, and it’s also a great place for whale watching. Best of all, it’s close to the United States, so there’s no major jetlag to deal with.
Admittedly it’s more of a relaxation destination than a cultural destination for most, but sometimes those make for fun trips. There are lots of great points hotels in Los Cabos. Still, I always appreciate more inventory, since it increases the options we have access to.
Hilton already has the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, which has excellent service and is on a nice stretch of beach. That being said, the property is definitely starting to show its age, so it’ll be nice to have another luxury Hilton option. For that matter, actually finding Hilton Honors award availability at a reasonable cost at that property is no easy task.
Bottom line
Plans have been announced for the Conrad Los Cabos, which should open in 2027. The 175-key property will feature guest rooms, suites, and residences. While it’ll be quite a big property, it shouldn’t be too busy in terms of the number of guests.
I’m looking forward to this property opening, but then again, it’s not like there’s a shortage of other options in Los Cabos.
What do you make of the Conrad Los Cabos?
Looks like a nice resort but the location is a little bit off. Unless it's much cheaper, pointwise, Pedregal may still be better.
