The network of Chase Sapphire Lounges is continuing to grow. Up until this point, there have been Chase Sapphire Lounges in Boston (BOS), Hong Kong (HKG), New York (JFK), New York (LGA), Phoenix (PHX), and Washington (IAD), with more being developed. There’s now an exciting update, as the latest outpost has just opened.
In this post:
Basics of the Chase Sapphire Lounge San Diego
The Chase Sapphire Lounge at San Diego International Airport (SAN) has opened as of Friday, December 6, 2024. It’s located in Terminal 2 West, between gates 46 and 47, and is open daily from 5AM until 10PM. Note that all of Terminal 2 is connected airside, while Terminal 1 isn’t connected airside (Terminal 1 is used by Frontier, Southwest, Spirit, and Sun Country).
This location is roughly 10,000 square feet, and features a la carte dining with a menu curated by Oscars Mexican Seafood, and coffee from California’s Groundwork Coffee. The lounge also has a curated wine list from Parcelle.
The lounge has some other cool amenities, including a wellness area with bookable private rest pods, on-demand digital meditation from Devi Brown, and facial treatments from Face Haus.
This lounge sounds incredible, and should by far be the best at the airport. This is also the first lounge by a credit card company in San Diego, as there isn’t an Amex Centurion Lounge or Capital One Lounge.
Chase Sapphire Lounge entry requirements
As a reminder, here are the entry requirements for all Chase Sapphire Lounges in the United States:
- Those with a Priority Pass membership through the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card (review) can access the lounge an unlimited number of times, with up to two complimentary guests; this also applies to those with the Ritz-Carlton Credit Card, which is no longer open to new applicants
- Those with a Priority Pass membership issued through any other means can access any Chase Sapphire Lounge in the United States once per calendar year at no additional cost (that’s one visit across all lounges, not per lounge), and guests aren’t complimentary; subsequent visits, as well as guests, will be charged an entry fee of $75
- If you don’t have a Priority Pass membership, you can outright buy access to the lounge for $100 per person per visit, subject to availability
- Chase Sapphire Lounges are only accessible within three hours of departure, unless you’re connecting, in which case you can access it earlier
Bottom line
The Chase Sapphire Lounge San Diego is now open. The lounge is roughly 10,000 square feet, and in addition to the standard Chase Sapphire Lounge amenities, you can expect some wellness amenities, including facials.
It’s especially cool to see lounges like this coming to airports that aren’t otherwise known for world class lounges, so this should be a treat for cardmembers.
What do you make of the new Chase Sapphire Lounge San Diego?
At the Chase Sapphire lounge San Diego. United to EWR not till 9pm PT but they still let me in with over 4 hrs prior to flight time. Also I was told I don’t need to show the PP card if you have the Sapphire Reserve. The Sapphire Reserve card is sufficient by itself to get in. That the good part.
The not so good part is there are no more facial treatment reservations available for the day even though the lounge is not that busy!
Hey Ben just an FYI, Delta will be getting a new and significantly larger (and upgraded) lounge in San Diego after they relocate to terminal 1. The new lounge will include an outdoor viewing deck & shower suites. Think similar to the LAX Sky Club but smaller. Timing is a ways off since the terminal 1 remodel is still underway, but something to note for the future of SAN’s lounge options.
Flying the new KLM SAN-AMS biz in May I guess they will only give access to the Delta Lounge in T2 :(
Wow great Delta is leaving T2, less competition for the Chase lounge. UNITED rising.
One correction: Ritz Priority Pass actually grants access with unlimited number of guests, not 2 guests.
