You might expect to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a suite at the Burj Al Arab or for a stay on Necker Island, but here’s one that might surprise you.
Check out the rates for Hotel Shangri La Santa Monica for tonight on Kayak.
Yep, that’s right, the price for a “Deluxe King Room with Ocean View” is $999,999.
That, of course, is without the $127,504.12 in taxes.
Keep in mind this hotel isn’t even in the Shangri-La chain, so you won’t be earning Gold Circle points for your stay.
Man, and I thought the maximum room rate per day for my room at the Delano was high…
(Tip of the hat to Eric)
I smell a Kickstarter campaign...
Will the $20 trick work here?
Anyone read the best rate guarantee terms?
I am shocked that no one has brought up the best price guarantee... Looking into it a little more I wonder if it qualifies for the 200% guarantee http://www.priceline.com/landing/best-price-guarantee.htm
Man, just think of all the minimum spending you could meet with just one mattress run, or how helpful this would have been in "Brewster's Millions"... ;-)
If people booked this, would the hotel cancel and claim the cancellation was justified b/c it was a mistake rate? ;)
I think the strategy is to make the Deluxe King Room $999,999 so that the One Bedroom Suite at the same price would look like a steal.
at least you get free internet!
Computer glitch perhaps?
