Now here's something I'm happy to see, as someone who has (unofficially) ordered Ubers for others on many occasions. In the past it was sort of annoying to order Ubers for others, since there was no official way to do so. For example, I've ordered an Uber to pick my mom up at the airport,…

@Jason

Sexually depraved or sexually liberated? Not everyone is as prudish as you.

So if I get my mom an Uber from her house to the airport she'll get texts but will I still be able to see what's going on via the app? I want to be able to check up on things.

My mother is a senior but is also blind. This doesn't help us - but I can see that it would be very useful for other older people who can manage a cell phone of some description - we do use a lot of traditional cabs for her which is okay - you need to set up an account with a local cab firm. Some older people do not even like to use credit cards let alone smartphones.

Kind of cool, but main thing for me would be if you can do this while at the same time getting your own Uber (two trips at the same time). Drives me nuts if I send somebody home on my Uber, and then I have to wait till they get home before requesting mine home.

This is a big relief to me; my parents are elderly and don't have a smart phone, they have a Jitterbug phone with huge numbers and buttons. That I can get them an Uber if need be is very comforting.

Ben, Do you know if we can use our $15 monthly Amex Platinum Uber credits for this? I'd assume yes, but wondered if you had any intel. Thanks.

Finally! This is so smart. Makes it accessible to the older generation who potentially couldn't call it for themselves anymore. And these are usually the people who need to save the money.
