For Photos inside the airplane, IMHO a decent compact digital will do. I was quite pleased with a TR I recently did on FT with a $99 compact digital and iPhone4 (after I lost my entire Nikon digital DSLR kit in Miami).
I do miss my Nikon DSLR when taking shots on location when a faster camera and lens are required. On a recent trip to India, I missed so many good shots because my compact digital camera was slow and lack of certain features.
For photos on the airplanes and airport lounges, compact digitals are great!^
You post extremely low res shots. Perhaps link to a higher res shot? For the low resolutions you use, an iPhone 4 camera would be fine.

Enjoy the cam. if i was reading you in jan, i would have recc. the same model. I have the S90 and don't play the camera body arms race so that's what i'm still using.
A good site to get some usability tips on the cam is kenrockwell.com. Punch in 's95' in his search form and you'll get a page or few with tips and such. He's a fairly opinionated blogger and is somewhat humorously addictive.
Get a spare battery, hi-cap sd card a small case to stick them in and you'll be set. I only carry the battery charger on weeklong trips (my case fits 2 spares) and usually carry the cam in a necklace-style badge holder so it's always available hands-free.
I know at least one other person who's commented that your camera sometimes seems to really 'blue-out' some pictures. Anyone else notice or know what's up with that?
