New Singapore SilverKris Lounge Open In Hong Kong
Early last year I reviewed the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge in Hong Kong. Keep in mind that Hong Kong is one of Singapore Airlines' biggest outstations, between their frequent flights to Hong Kong, and their service to San Francisco. This lounge left me rather disappointed: -- It's a massive lounge, but doesn't have any shower…

"and reopened this past Friday, November 7, 2015." Should maybe say 2014? 😉
I was STARVING in HKG in January before the LH departure to MUC (~midnight). The only *A lounge options either had inedible, bad food (UA, TG) or no food (SQ) at that hour. Also, somehow every single restaurant in the terminal was closed by 1030pm. Literally was standing by the CX lounges asking to be guested in because I was so hungry....
Hey Lucky,
Have you been to the Virgin Clubhouse in HKG? I'm flying EVA out of HKG in a few weeks, trying to decide whether I should go to the new SQ lounge or not.
@ acs -- I haven't, though if you have access I'd say that's probably one of the better options.
@ acs - I had the same question. Flying Eva out of HKG today. I'm going to opt for the VS clubhouse since it's not the easiest lounge to get access to in the first place and I want to check it out.
I already visited the new lounge and had access to the First Class section and was very disappointed: The new Sydney Lounge is absolutely fantastic (lounge, food, wine, service) while this lounge in HKG is a pretty sad one: very small space, easily overcrowded and service (or the absence of) made me wonder whether this is really what SQ wanted.
The UA lounge a pretty nice at HKG and there is a first class area
I was hugely disappointed in the old SQ lounge when I used it. Dingy and poor selection. It doesn't sound like it got much better.
You were waiting by the door of a lounge begging random strangers to guest you into that lounge? I guess you'd have to check in your dignity at the door had they let you in...
The Apple Stores and Stanley Kubrick films had a baby, it is the Qantas Lounge. Simply amazeballs
@ Lucky - My beef now: the fact that my dad would take the airport's Japanese style deep fried pork cutlet rice over this lounge, and he doesn't really understand that I'm blogging... 😛
@Justin: That may be the most pathetic post I have ever seen from anyone on any blog or message board.
@Lucky: After learning about the SilverKris Lounge from you in this post, I will be giving it a whirl with the kids and wife over x-mas and new year's.
