Back in May Virgin Atlantic revealed that it would be retiring its Boeing 747s, which is a decision we’ve seen at several airlines as a result of the reduced demand from coronavirus. This accomplishes two things — the airline wants to shrink, and its other aircraft are more fuel efficient.

Very cool. I quite enjoyed my quick hop in premium econ on the upper deck a few years ago when going JFK-MAN. At this rate, I’m not sure I’ll ever see the inside of a 747 again (at least from 30k feet) so I’ll have fond memories of this VS fleet.
50 tickets in total. Couple of meal sittings. Upper Class on G-VROY is only about 14 seats given it was mainly used from LGW on leisure routes.
I was lucky enough to work for a company in Orlando that painted a 747 for Virgin back in the late 80's. It was a great experiance.
Sold out within three minutes. Was signed in and waiting before 9, but never got the opportunity to select a time. Went from unavailable to sold out straight away. A lottery indeed - will wait for someone one to cover the event online!
I got the opportunity to select a time, then eventually it came back with no Tickets 🙁 Gone in a minute.

I was in "the queue".........yippee I thought next it said "sold out". I reckon a lot depends on who you know. If anyone considers selling 2 I would be interested.
