I always find job postings for non-US flight attendant positions to be interesting. While we're used to hearing about how "equal opportunity" jobs in the US are, in many other countries that's not a thing. Take Royal Jordanian, for example. They Tweeted today about how they're hiring female flight attendants. What are the requirements?

Um...this has nothing to do with "cultural norms"...it might be something cultural for that particular company, but not for the region.

I have flown RJ Business a few times. If the three male FAs were in cheap-looking grey suits and looked gruff then I believe they were security not FAs. The equivalent of FAMs.

They sit with and hang out with the crew and I believe they are armed.

Maybe they simply want to maintain some kind of balance between male and female flight attendants and they have enough male flight attendants, so what would be the point of having more male candidates apply?
