My comment has nothing to do with UIA or the Kiev airport lounge, though I'm so looking forward to the JFK flight review.
Instead, I'm trying to understand the logic in TK's decision to launch flights from IST to Havana & Caracas. How much O&D and connecting traffic could there possibly be from IST to HAV & CCS? Given how Turkish seems to be in contraction mode when it comes to its route network, I just found this announcement to be bizarre and unfathomable. I hope Ben writes up a post about it.
TK has the number of Russian tourists coming to Cuba. I assume the number is growing since the traditional destinations like Tukey and Egypt are not deemed safe.
Isn't the business class priced below Premium Economy on most airlines? Im guessing althought its poor for business class, for the price there is TONS more space than Premium Economy.
Wow @ the lounge PA announcements. I high-tail it to the lounge upon landing to AVOID all of the incessant and useless PAs, especially in American airports with the useless security theater announcements & the even more undesirable local interest PAs like local sports players & politicians shilling local attractions.
