Hopefully a lot of local cuisine to represent the culture. Spam musubi lol. I don’t believe Ben knows about the pancakes. I like HNL’s check in area retro feel and the garden area however it’s in dire need of a revamp.
What a welcome improvement! The Plumeria Lounge routinely has waitlists (last time I didn't have to wait is when I arrive around 9AM). My most recent visit was before Christmas and the wait was about 25 minutes. Got to spend about 30 minutes before heading to my gate. Definitely not as good as others, but will gladly take a more comfy seat and some free snacks and drinks.
In all lounges there is food offerings. I think the new hawaiian lounge might have some food or even some food that you see in other lounges.

however alaska just announced one of alaska air planes will replace the ONT-HNL route that hawaiian is currently using....

Hawaiian must be the last US airline that operates lounges to bring its lounges up-to-date. All the others have upped their game or in the middle of major lounge upgrades.

A new lounge in HNL may be long overdue, but this post is long over-early. I mean, honestly, what’s the point in posting this almost three years ahead?
If this had been about something new happening at the end of THIS year, this could have been useful, but who cares now, what will happen in “late 2027”?
The other HA lounge at HNL (Premier Club) is absolutely basic. It's newer than the Plumeria Lounge, but only has chips and drinks, similar to the HA lounge in OGG (and I imagine the other islands).
By 2027 will the tiresome and wanky word "reimagined" be out of circulation..??

HNL has the potential to be a connecting hub between AU/NZ and the US mainland, however, none of AS/HA lounges has a shower which is a must after a long-haul flight.
The same applies to SEA as well.
Yes, the Hawaiian lounges are some of, if not the worst, lounges for a US based airline. But something mainland/international travelers forget is these lounges are mostly frequented by interisland first class passengers and those with status. They don’t intend to operate as a true mainland/international “lounge” experience. They are catering to people taking a 30-90 minute flight. International first class passengers, and all priority pass holders in Oahu use the plumeria lounge(along with domestic JFK/BOS passengers). These lounges were designed for inter island travel. They need updating, but don’t expect to compare them to lounges catering to true “premium” passengers. Interisland traffic caters to workers who commute regularly for work between the islands.
Pualani Platinum here. HA has two lounges in HNL. Lucky overlooked the HA Premier Club near A18. I believe that's the one being replaced, not the Plumeria, which is further down, nearer A15. I was at both in December, and have been to all HA lounges except ITO because I fly out of KOA. HA lounges are basic, drinks and snacks, and that's all most of us need inter island.

Just a guess here, but it'll take Alaska and Hawaiian a while longer to update planes with the appropriate branding and amenities compared to right-sizing the aircraft for various routes. For example, I'm curious to see if the Hawaiian A330 that'll be used for SEA-ANC this summer will be clad out in Hawaiian livery to Alaskan.
If they're replacing the premier club, then I honestly wouldn't see the point. That "lounge" only has juice, soft drinks, coffee, and the mixed crackers. Otherwise it's very much just a room to sit in. I honestly never saw the point of going into that lounge except to grab a juice. The plumeria lounge needs to be upgraded. It's too small. The food is not great, but meets expectations for Hawaiian, which is to say aggressively mediocre.
