I’d take the 787 business class over the 747/777 first class any day of the week.
Strange that they are not announcing an upgrade to the 777 product, especially since it's what they use for TLV-HKG, now facing stiff competition from CX, with a much better product on their A350.
In the meantime...what markets will get the 747. As it's not scheduled to be phased out this year.

If im not mistaken, Hong Kong flights are moving to 787 starting next month using LY's third 787, replacing current 777. I assume LY's last 747 route will be Bangkok.
You’ll be waiting a while. El Al has no competition on that route so they have no incentive to upgrade their equipment. It’ll eventually happen as they phase out older aircraft, but not anytime soon.
