I'm surprised Delta didn't offer to buy the used 757 since Delta likes buying old aircraft. In all seriousness, the 757 is a great plane. Arguably the best Boeing plane. Politics aside, Trump is something of an aviation geek.
That plane has increased in value because the interior is decked out in Gold and the price of gold has risen substantially since the aircraft was built.
Yeah, he knew the substandard quality of catering out of LGA to the extent that he make his Hotel cater for his meal onboard the private jet.
The 757 is a solid private aeroplane, I'll give him that. Increase the range to ~13,000 km and that'd be perfect for me. Though it appears not even the much newer ACJ321neo can achieve that...
Trump's 757 is an amazing plane. It can hold 1,000 passengers -- more than any other plane. And all of them are in lie-flat, first class seats with doors. The range is incredible, too. The plane can fly around the world, nonstop, and the crews -- the crews are fantastic, the best -- they never need rest periods. The FAA said they've never seen anything like it. It's tremendous, I tell you.
Politics aside, 757 is a very versatile plane. Since President Trump likes to hold MAGA rallies at minor airport hangars or tarmacs, and a lot of airports where those rallies were held does not have the capability to take Air Force One (747), he travelled around in what is usually the Air Force Two (757) instead.
I seem to remember there is a considerably tackier version (in stills) featuring his now wife?
Yeah, also, the 757 allows him to fly over the Atlantic nonstop easily as well given his rather diverse business investment worldwide.
It’s reported that due to the placement of the bedroom at the rear of the plane, they’ve installed MCAS to correct nose-up tendency. Unfortunately, they only had the budget for second-hand AoA sensors.
No point of it for campaigning, but a useful getaway vehicle once the indictments start pouring in.

Politics aside New York would not be my first choice to store an airplane for six years. I would have parked it in the desert.
And just because there may not be any proof available, it does not mean the elections were not rigged. President Trump may have indeed won - if the 2020 elections were rigged, I would imagine that the riggers would be stupid to not destroy the evidence.

Since he claims he's so rich he could have retrofitted P&W2000 engines replacing those RR RB211's to match his america first ideology.
I believe Eskimo is referring to an incumbent president. Any US Government aircraft transporting an incumbent president is referred to as Air Force (or whatever branch of service owns the aircraft) One. The 757 that we typically know as Air Force Two, which transports the VP, would be AF One should the incumbent POTUS be on board. The airplane is AF One and his helicopter is Marine One due to the USMC owning said helo.
Agree with your point that the maintenance costs are high. I think that you are just commenting about this because it is Trump's plane. Otherwise you probably would not comment. Many others have private jets and you don't seem to write about it.
The fact that he has Rolls Royce engines may may consider a big deal, but in fact many commercial airliners use Rolls Royce engines.

What happens when a mobster earns a lot of money - he flaunts it! Actually it's not that impressive - the gold bits are sort of sad as they are totally unnecessary. The aircraft itself was built in 1991 so is over 30 years old. Would be a lot more impressive to see a state of the art aircraft with better technology and fuel efficiency.
It is painful to see a grown man having to write his name in the very largest letters possible on the side of an aircraft ( basically a 5 year old's habit) - it does however represent what Trump is a person.

Trump will be putting it back in storage or donating it to a charity like Doctors without borders when he wins in 2024.
