Earlier I shared my impressions from a recent Austrian Airlines business class flight. While Austrian has fantastic business class catering in general, I wanted to dedicate a post to what’s probably my single favorite part of the Austrian Airlines experience.

In Vienna coffee is always served with a glass of water.

It's good to see more coffee selections in the air.

Your post brought a memory of the best cup of coffee I've ever had. I think it was abt 10 years ago on VIE JFK flight and probably Maria Theresia as it had a bit of orange flavor. Speciality coffee was available only during lunch service, not the whole flight. For me, it was the highlight of the flight.

Definitely a highlight of my own recent business class flight from ORD-VIE. I had two einspanners on the trip over and was sad the it wasn’t available for the return journey. (The eiscaffe was still good, but not my preference.)

This brought back memories of my MIA-VIE flight in March 2019 when I was on my way to KIV. I enjoyed a Maria Theresia and have wanted to fly OS business class again, but I just haven't had the opportunity with my TATL flights being mainly Skyteam and Oneworld. I guess I had better make sure I choose one departing VIE if I have the opportunity again.

that one coffee selection looks more like an ice cream sundae with an espresso base. lol. Can you even imagine the weird looks if a US Carrier tried to serve that? 🙂
But wow. great coffee selections

It’s just an affogato with whipped cream, why would there be weird looks?

Hopefully they did not cut Kaffee Baileys on transatlantic flights. It's my all time favorite. Yummm... 😎

One wonders if KLM will ever offer an onboard menu inspired by the coffeeshops of Amsterdam.

I do drink a lot of coffee and have two different Italian espresso machines at home but I cannot stand any sugary coffee drinks.

I'm no coffeegeek by any means, but the best cup of coffee I ever had was at the Cafe Sacher in Vienna. It was so much better than anything I have ever had that I actually noticed. By the way, their Sachertorte is better than Demel's in my opinion, but both were too dry for my taste. Although it is a good excuse for the coffee and the accompanying whipped cream.

Austrian now offers ALL coffees as shown on your 2018 menu. Not sure how long that's been the case.
