The move to have one pilot actually means a fully automated flight.
The one person is just a puppet to keep all you paranoid snowflakes calm thinking someone is behind the controls. FWIW, you're much safer with no humans behind the control.
Excellent work by the FO, his crew, the ATC operatives and all First Responders. They should all be condemned for carrying out their duties admirably. One hopes that the Captain, is soon fit enough to fly another day.

Sorry Ben, but there was no last-minute runway change. The controller was just saying to try to turn off from runway 27 to runway 22L (NOT a runway change), and the copilot repeated this back (NOT a rejection) in a less than precise way. The controller then clarified what was intended.
For someone who speaks with such authority on aviation, this is unexpected...
