The St. Regis Toronto Is Now Open

I’ve stayed at the Delta Toronto most of my times up there. It’s a nice hotel within walking distance to Union Station and the CN tower (I value location more than luxury, and for some people, it may be flipped) and imo the best in Toronto.

And also the Delta hotel is a Marriott/Starwood property, so it’s a points hotel.

The Fairmont Royal York has been getting a massive renovation for years now - the entire historic lobby and restaurant are now being done. It will certainly be a player for tourists in the future. I'll certainly visit the St Regis now that the trump stench has been scrubbed from the property.

There's a fairly new Kimpton as well.

Toronto is a fantastic city, the most multicultural city in the world and their restaurant scene is amazing you can find food from all over the world too. They also get points in my book for being the first city to dump theTrump name off a building!

The Park Hyatt Toronto is serviceable, but isn't really up to the standards of the Park Hyatt portfolio in general.

I'm guessing they won't be able to fix the vibrations from the subway trains in the rooms in the north tower during the refresh...

I’m always excited to see the St. Regis brand expand it’s portfolio, especially in a city that does not have a wide choice of luxury hotels from which to choose. Like almost all Four Seasons hotels, the one in Toronto looks depressingly cookie cutter and could be anywhere in the world.

I always give St. Regis the edge compared to Four Seasons because I value the St. Regis butler service tremendously . Yes, my husband and I need to have someone knocking on our door to wake us up in the morning and deliver coffee and pack and unpack our luggage (yes, I’m really that lazy).

Was the negative connotation associated with the Trump name the reason behind its failure? Sold for a loss too? Way to go Donald! Watch out America that you don't get sold off at a discount!
