Introduction: To Nairobi For 13 Hours

Seriously... this post is a whole lot of nothing. All of these flights you have already told us you were taking and already posted about in some form, albeit not as a full trip report. Can we please get the actual trip reports - particularly for KQ.

I enjoy reading every single review Lucky publishes, including teasers about upcoming reviews, And having just returned from a fairly exhausting trip to Asia myself, I’m really impressed with most of Lucky’s itineraries.

Just flew ba 747 from lhr to Ord. If you can get an upstairs window seat it’s actually pretty comfortable. Second time in a row the attendants have been warm and welcoming, and the food was excellent. Old seat but comfy.

@ Lucky As a Skyteam elite plus through China Airlines, can you use the Delta SkyClub at T4 instead of the wingtips lounge? So, in other words as a Skyteam elite plus, can you use any Skyteam affiliated lounges? Also, only for international flights and not domestic flights? Thank you.

@ Jeffrey – This post is a trip report introduction that details how he booked his flights, so he wouldn't have to crowd his reports with the booking details. He's done this for almost every single trip report for years. Your problem with that is? Don't like it, don't read it – none of us here paid for this.

NBO is my "home" airport so I'm especially eager to read this report. The Turkish lounge is the only Priority Pass option so no surprise that at the wrong time it would be packed. It's in such an out-of-the-way area that I can't imagine how crazy it would be were it easier to get to. When my father came to visit I described it to him as "Just keep walking. You're going to get to a point where you think 'there is no way this is right' but just keep going and you'll get there."

And since "nothing" is what you paid for it, Jeffrey, perhaps you could ease up on the demanding tone a bit? Or, better yet, completely?

Lucky pretty much always has an "introduction" post for a TR series that talks about how he selects flights. Sometimes he (or Tiffany, if she's involved in the booking) will also post stories about the process, or Ben may also do a quick post with pictures (either the "x in 10 pictures" reports or a one-off like when he posted about the ceremony around the Kenyan flights at JFK.) I like these, since the actual TRs can take a while to get to and they serve as a "appetizer" in advance of the full TR.

But again, the key takeaway is: this site is FREE, so be a little less demanding, OK?

Wait… How did you book a transfer for 3 hours between LCY and LHR? How was that going to be enough? And I’ve always been wondering for different airport transfer on one PNR - If train breaks midway and causes a misconnect, does the airline take responibility?

@ Ethan -- I spent a night in London, as I landed on the 7th and departed on the 8th, though I could have booked a same day connection (it allows it). I believe it would have still been my fault if I missed it.

You will definitely enjoy the Marriott Kigali. I recently stayed at the Marriott Kigali using a free night redemption and the redemption rates were good, the hotel was very nice, and the lounge was really good. The rooms were also nice and overall the hotel covers a huge space and thus has a lot to offer guests
