We flew that flight two years ago, on a oneworld (now explorer) award MCO-ord-hel-LED-lhr-NBO-lhr-JFK-MCO. The hard product and food on the ORD-HEL flight was merely adequate, but the service was beyond superb. The FAs made us feel we were cared for. It was a lovely experience.

International routing doesn't make sense. I would hope, in light of the fact that you write a travel blog, that you know airlines usually cannot create international routes as they chose. They are heavily regulated and often routes are often remnants of dissolved carriers: UAL to Asia were Pan Am. AA from JFK to Europe, TWA. DL from JFK to Europe Pan Am. Delta and AA to South American, Pan Am again.

I agree coach tickets are severely overpriced HEL-ORD at the moment. Too bad as I had planned to do a weekend in ORD but JFK or MIA can be had for less than half the cost, sadly not direct and American metal, though!
