Our connecting flight landed at DFW at around noon, so we headed to the Amex Centurion Lounge. Lufthansa has their own lounge at DFW located inside "The Club" (that's the name of the lounge), though it's a rather uninspiring setup, so we skipped it altogether. For anyone interested, it's similar to the setup Emirates has,…

Ah, inter-office onboard relationships! Ha ha ha!

I don't see, well not in photos how the seating feels First Class.

Garuda, yes. EY yes... seems a bit open plan on Lufthansa...

They are the cutest couple (for example in : https://onemileatatime.com/boyfriends-first-time-on-emirates/ )

Looking forward to the Garuda review

Amazes me that you can pay $15,000 for a first class ticket and they don't include wifi even with all the money that is spent on food, wine, amenities, etc. Just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Sounds cool, I'll be interested in your comments on Jakarta, as I haven't been other than staying at the airport hotel overnight.

How long in advance did you book the Lufthansa tickets?

I flew LH F a few days ago, FRA-JFK, also on the A330. Was my first time in F on the A330; previously I've flown F on FRA-ORD on the 748. This time I was in 2K and both 2D and 2G were empty, so the FA made my bed in 2G.

A few comments:
1) I was disappointed that there was not an upgraded Champagne for the holiday season. In past years around Xmas, Lufthansa has served Krug, Cristal, or Taittinger Comtes de Champagne. While Laurent Perrier Grand Siecle is a perfectly nice Champagne, I felt like LH was cost cutting.
2) The holiday menu in the FCT, however, was fantastic. I highly recommend the pappardelle with lobster.
3) I laughed when you said you didn't like that you had to get up to take out the tray table. I've never had to do that. Every time the FAs do it for me! Just sit back and relax and they will take care of it, I've never even asked.

I have to disagree on the pajama bottoms. They're way more comfortable than scrub bottoms. And less likely to draw attention to one's groin.

I think they were using up old amenity kits Lucky. I've flown LH F six times in Nov\ Dec and each time had a new style, square (cheap) canvas zip up thing.

Hi Ben, I think you might've got leftover amenity kits. I've flown LH F every week in the past month or so and have had a (very inexpensive looking) zip up thing (it's flat and square) ... and not useful for anything!

Very enjoyable review, as usual! Absolute excellent quality of the articles. For the first F Cl miles & more cash-in, is it more effective to purchase an affordable business fare and upgrade subsequently or to go directly for the first class cash-in?
Best regards & merry Christmas from Switzerland
