Lufthansa's Festive Oktoberfest Flights Return For 2025: What To Expect

Flew LH 452 (MUC - LAX) in First yesterday. Lots of fun details in the First Class lounge like festive decorations and a special menu. I also received an Oktoberfest bath duck at the lounge reception after asking.

Interesting you mention the Bavarian Duck in the lounge. I could actually choose this dish onboard. Also there were lots of Oktoberfest snacks onboard like chocolate and some cookie. Pretty tasty and the crew was simply amazing.

Meanwhile, the risk of a pilot strike beginning October looms. In true German tradition, of course.

....so enjoy the Oktoberfest themed flights, if they fly.

What do they mean by “sustainably produced” lederhosen? Are the cows still alive?

A real 5* airline would concentrate on a solid premium product and good customer service - day in and day out - instead of promoting some gimmick. Or maybe the whole point of a gimmick is to distract the weary pax from the dreary ordinariness of it all?

Lufthansa employees are not known for great hospitality, but they are particularly hateful in connection with strikes. I recall on two different flights immediately after strikes, with catering not yet fully up and running, where the flight attendants were making fun of passengers for what we were stuck eating in F. Entitled ********.

But John, the U.S. airline’s “Promoting some gimmick” has to be their reliance upon the brainwashed U.S. travellers who also depend upon their points for miles programs, yes?

I would be excited to see them offer these celebratory outfits and food for the entire fest season. Too bad it's just 2 days / 2 flights.
