Lufthansa will soon be unveiling Project FOX, the name of its all-new passenger experience. Lufthansa’s goal is apparently to become Europe’s most premium airline, which seems like it’ll take some work. Along those lines, as the first concrete example of Project FOX, Lufthansa has just announced all-new amenity kits.

As Rimowa cases aren't a possibility anymore, LH should, at least, use their "Lufthansa Life Collection Amenity Kit", which is their own brand copy of the Rimowa.
They even have a "Lufthansa Aluminium Collection Business Class Edition Amenity Kit", but that would be asking for too much.

*cracks knuckles* H'welp. 'Bout time to book some LH flights. Might as well get a 'rubber ducky' too.

Nothing special. Many airlines have much better partnerships with big names. Even philippine airlines has a more impressive amenity kit with a Furla bag. This LH branded pouch is very cheap.
The added option in first class costs the airline approx. 0,5€/pax. Regular guests don’t take home the amenity kit anymore, 20% of F pax don’t even touch it.
AF’s Clarins Spas give out bigger portion of skincare products, based on the passengers’ skin type, chosen by a professional. For free. For anyone in the lounge, even with a basic economy ticket and status.
LH should start with outstation check in experience. In my home airport (BUD), LH’s check in has always the worst lines, with one (1) desk for First, business, premeco and star alliance silver/gold pax. In the morning rush hour, that is for 5 departing flights (VIE, MUC, FRA, BRU, ZRH).

Really find myself Fast Forwarding the part of video flight reviews that "un bag" the amenity kit.

Amenity kits are really low on what matters for a J class flight. Long before the amenity kit, there is flight cost, seat comfort/function, IFE, meal service, bedding, and of course drinks.

Most of us throw away most of what is in the kit, and the "designer Bag" gets tossed or put on a shelf with ten others. Give us the option for an extra 2,000 FF miles and skip the amenity kit.

I like what Hawaiian does, they walk around with a basket of lotion, lip balm, etc. Take one if you want one.

I like this initiative for first class, I wish more business class amenity kits would include some single use items to help with the dry air on-board like sheet masks, eye patches, or a face spray (I believe united had this at some point). I usually have my own face cream in my carry on anyways

I could not agree more. I also think they should just go around with a basket and give people what they want. LX does this for a few items in First class, and I think it makes a lot of sense. I am actually surprised they don't already do it since it would save money/waste. For 90% of J flights, I only want the toothbrush and the earplugs.

Somehow I see a lot of the first class "grab what you want" Babor products finding their way into flight attendant bags.

Dumb.

"Give us the option for an extra 2,000 FF miles"
This is asking for a Basic Business Class fare where you end up paying more for less.

If you don't like the kit, just leave it, give it away, pee in it, etc.

Next time why don't you pick and choose food for your meal service?
Ask for 1000 miles because you don't eat salad.
Ask for 2000 miles because your checked bag is 3kg under the limit?
Ask for 3000 miles because the cabin is warm and you don't need blankets.
Ask for 5000 miles because you didn't need to use the lavatory and already pee in your amenity kit.

I hope these guys know what they’re doing… with ~1% margin to the overall LH group, sounds like a bunch of (unnecessary?) overhead costs.

Limiting the number of £2 skincare products your £6000 first class passenger can select would be peak Lufthansa cost efficiency

I don’t think they can do it, Carlos. Take an average of 40 seats in J class. Take 100 planes/flights per day. You are already at 4000 pieces. Their production can’t be that high to cover 3 months. The idea is definitely good, but not feasible.
