The major benefit of this card is that as long as you have it and so long as you make at least one charge per month your LH miles will not expire.
The Meilenschnaeppchen (www.meilenschnaeppchen.de) are underrated. A business class flight from the USA to one of the 93 European destinations sells for 55.000 miles roundtrip (or 40.000 premium economy) plus taxes.
So just for signing up you can fly to Europe together in premium economy.
Miles&More allows Mileagepooling. So 160 000 mile are a good start for a LH FC flight.
This program does have great deals - thank you for pointing it out. I am surprised this is the first time I've seen anyone mention it.
Whilst the taxes with M&M are expensive, the award availability with them is amazing. One of the best in the biz for sure, especially with SEN/HON status, where you can request award seats (and usually get them).

I’ll likely pass. If they partnered with Bilt, AmEx, or Citi I’d think about it. Improved earnings would help, too. Bonus for dining, for example.
Your criticism makes no sense. He linked to the card page on the Barclays website in this post. If he didn't want to spread the word because he didn't receive a commission, why post about it at all, let alone make it easy for folks to follow their interest.
Out of all the folks in the miles and points world, Ben is the most transparent and ethical. Period.

Disagree. I jumped on this card the last time it was 80k. A fool would pass this up. Paid 91k in miles and a maybe 1000 in fees (or you can do 116k miles and hardly any fees). I was able to book LH first class months away from my travel dates (Ben does mention this). This card is a must for anyone who wants to fly LH first class. Ben was very quick to pimp out other cards that provide no value for LH first class that he can make a commission on, that was my criticism which makes perfect sense.
I've been taking advantage of the Bundle&Go offers to book LH F, so I just jumped on this offer to keep my miles alive indefinitely. If you hold the card and put one transaction on it monthly, your miles won't expire after 36 months. Totally worth it!
Even more so than the rates, I'm very impressed by the program's award availability, on their own metal and on partners. 78,000 miles +$10 fees from LAX to Europe is pretty dang good.
What are the taxes like on F and J class awards from say LAX to FRA ? And how is the availability ?
Literally 900€+ taxes for a return flight on LH/OS/LX AND far beyond 1.000€+ on one-ways starting in the US.

Have you actually looked at the pricing? There are two options for your booking: lower points/higher fees, higher points/lower fees.
An example (as noted above):
LAX-FRA 78,000 + $10 USD, or 56,000 +$1027 USD.
78,000 points is a stellar deal for an 11-12 hour flight.
Do your homework.
For anyone in Austria (and possibly other countries) who cannot get this, Diners Club cards provide this for a 40€ or so fee per year.
And in Germany, Austria... there are Miles&More credit cards who do as well.
