With the exception of Hong Kong, theres no airport I like transiting more than Narita. I always arrive a bit bleary-eyed, immersed in a foreign world as I try to figure out just where the hell I am.

Must. stop. reading. this. trip. report.

Each time I open up the latest installment, it makes me salivate. And yes, the immigration staff are super efficient, and while they may not always smile it's a nice touch having a mint or other candy in an open bowl atop the desk.

I couldn't agree more. SIN immigration is the best! And the candies....where in the world do you get that treatment?

Love the trip report !

If you arrived into T3 at changi, why did you need to take a skytrain to immigration - I was in SIN T3 in may and just walked into immigration hall from inside ?

I also overnighted at the Crowne Plaza Changi and thoroughly enjoyed watching the SQ and QF 380's from my hotel window. Hope you had an enjoyable stay there too.

Danm I love SQ F. It is so great. Last year my wife and I flew it from LAX to SIN, and were not prepared for all of the amenities. We practically needed another carryon.

Great TR so far. How come you didn't book the cook?

In your photo of the IFL at NRT, you found the spot where I slept during Snow-kyo! Next time you're there, say hi to Ms. Toko 🙂

Great report... looking forward to the rest!

Thanks for the awesome report. I cashed in some SkyPesos for SQ11/26 in F and SIN-BKK in Biz. I can't wait, thanks for the detailed reports. I'll leave room in my carryon.

Thanks for a write up if your latest indulgence in SQ. Sounds amazing . . . except too bad the Pichon Lalande wasn't '03 or '00. I woulda been in heaven!

The wine list sounds poorly put together. I mean the Dom/Krug is awesome, and the Bordeaux sounds pretty good, but the two white wines are laughable. I mean Cloudy Bay in international F? That was on sale at my local grocery store for $17 this week. Also, would it kill them to include a non-cabernet based red? I realize that the Bordeaux is a blend, but how hard would it be to branch out to a Burgundy/Pinot Noir or, God forbid, a Rhone? I mean seeing as they serve asian food, you would think they could at least include a lighter red and/or a riesling that would better suit their menu than the current offerings.

I guess when I fly F on SQ 11/12 at the end of this month I will have to stick to the champagne...

Great report. I was actually on the flight coming from LAX to Narita, but sadly seating in J class. Next time ask for an sq plastic bag to stuff your goodies.

You said you tried the UA IFL for the first time because you had always heard that ANA Suites was better. So, after checking it out, how do the two compare? Thanks.
