What you're totally missing though is if you add a second person its **only** 5.215M so that becomes a mere 2.6M per person, or 325M points...a bargain!

Unfortunately I think this is the end of point redemptions. Credit card companies are giving 70,000 points but that really is nothing. The end is near.

5 points per $1 plus 30% Globalist bonus plus another 3 points per $1 on Chase Hyatt card .... that'll require $63mil in just Hyatt stays ...
assuming you stay in a $1000/night suite every single night of the year, you'll reach 600mil WOH points in 173 years.

Yikes, I'm grumbling about 195,000 AA miles DCA-LAX-SYD in business as a back up for RTW17 - this would be backup for Korean JFK-ICN-SYD in 1st for 110,000 miles. Hopefully Seoul will be there next month and I'll only be out the $150 redeposit fee. Plus I really want to fly on KE B747-8i

@Ben, 30k ft is certainly feasible for a balloon. Remember, Felix Baumgartner jumped from a balloon at 120k+ ft.
Maybe there is some politician that we can pool our points to give the experience since there is no value to them. 🙂
Before "SkyMiles" and back in the 1990s and even into the very early-2000s, I use to take to the AF Concorde from JFK-CDG-JFK for 200,000 Delta "Frequent Flier" points roundtrip and did so 8 or 9 times...and with not much charged in taxes/fees either...AND...the AF Concorde seats were ALWAYS available for my first choice in travel dates and ALWAYS at the same redemption rate. Can you imagine?
Using UR points and paying through Chase, the monetary value of the redemption would a mere $4M 😉
Reminds me of 1996 when Pepsi ran a commercial that if you got 7 million Pepsi points you could get a harrier jet. At this point, there should be redemptions, for say, kidney transplants, free chemo, maybe a reduced price hip surgery? and other 'once in a lifetime' opportunities. I wonder if these are coming about because they have figured out people can game these programs, and they cant really close the loopholes for economic reasons.
