The day before my return flight to Los Angeles, I got an email from Virgin Atlantic inviting me to use the Upper Class Wing at Heathrow Terminal 3. I had actually planned on navigating my way to Paddington Station and taking the Heathrow Express, which I find incredibly convenient and quick. However, since the Andaz…

Hi Nick

Englishman here. I had to look up what the difference between a mimosa and a Buck's fizz So i am the "uncultured rube". I Think i will go for a mimosa in future as it appears it is equal parts champers and OJ compared to Buck's fizz which is two parts OJ to one part champers.

P.s I agree re Lanson not being scared; that is a good use for it.

@john galbraith: Ha! Funny you mention that, I knew that in the UK a "Buck's Fizz" was something technically different than a mimosa, so I actually asked my server at the Brasserie. The server replied with a shrug, "there's no difference. Same drink." (Untrue, but I suppose no one really knows the difference.)

Hi Nick

I don't think it really matters at all (or at least not to me). As long as my OJ has champers in then i am happy. Unless of course it is my favourite Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque in which case it would terrible to ruin it with OJ. Now i wonder if Ben has tried it with OJ???

The LHR Clubhouse is a great lounge. The showers and availability of electrical outlets could be improved. The staircase to the entrance is striking but impractical IMO. I assume legal liability is not an issue there.

Firstly, it's busy because of all the the additional Delta Medallions in there.

Secondly, there's plenty of power outlets. They are under the humps on the seats that lift up.

I've yet to go to an airline lounge that matches the Virgin Clubhouse. The Centurion lounges come close. They still lack that fun aspect though 🙂
