Hotel is owned by QR. Some of the furniture in the lobby is the same as in the J class lounge.
Stayed here back in 2019 when it was the Rotana Oryx due to QR providing for free after missing a connecting flight caused by delay. Looks completely the same (Even had exact same kind of suite we were to receive two regular rooms and I opted to replace it with one suite) except for Hyatt's logo being put on it!
Yes the restaurants are fabulous in there, Qatar Airways staff have discount so was always popular with us. The Chinese restaurant reminded me of UK Chinese food,was very tasty and the Tapas bar was good too. The Jazz Club has hilarious cover bands on who don't have a clue what they're singing and is unintentionally funny. Would love to stay there again, in my time it was Rotana not Hyatt so am curious about the changes but from the pics it looks not much different
OMG this is weird, but the pictures of the room immediately reminded me of my early trips (2010) to Uganda, where I got upgraded to a suite in the Sheraton Kampala. By now I'm sure it's not nearly comparable to your stay but the room, the design, the layout, the quality all screams 2010 Sheraton Kampala to me.
So which luxury hotels in the area are your favorites for the famous 21 hour layover (The 2am to 11pm stay!)
Stayed here last month when overnighting in DOH. You can book this hotel on QRs website if your layover is >8hr.
Ive payed around 30 quid for a room. Great value. Loved the gym. Close to the airport...
This Place is very nice. we spent 5 Days there in January. Service was okay in Breakfast, lots of young educated Indians working as servers and do not like what they are doing. I can understand that. actually there are maids that are also college graduates from India.
Management is Top notch, Lady in the Lounge is very gracious. actually Lounge Food is very,very good.
Hotel is close to Underground Trains.
Definitely will visit again, have Booked for February.
This is a great value property, paid 3000 Hyatt points plus $75 per night for access to the Club Lounge. The lounge offers light bites from 6pm-8pm with about 4-5 entrees changing nightly (example we had lamb skewers one night, and the next it was chicken skewers)...alcohol selections were limited but fine, offerring vodka, white rum, whiskey, gin and a red and white wine. It's serve yourself but the lounge hostess is very nice and helpful. It's super hot 112 degrees average when we were here, so we stayed in the hotel and lounged by the pool during the day, then hit the town from 7pm to midnight after enjoying the lounge food. We really enjoyed our stay here.
