For someone who lived in Miami until 2021 (in coconut grove), this is our preferred hotel when we go back to visit due to the combination of points value, location, and pool shade. Pool shade? Yes, pool shade. We have a young child who loves the pool, but so many hotels have a pool where all the chairs are in the sun. At this hotel, there’s always a part of the pool deck in the shade during all hours of the day, and that’s actually a big draw for us with a young child. Additionally, we frequently get upgraded to a suite without status. The staff is very nice and accommodating. It would be a perfect place if we were globalist (for the free parking and breakfast). Gonna be there again in 2 weeks!

I stayed here 2 times (once in March 2021 and another in June 2021). It is a really nice hotel. The staff is really friendly and the rooms are nice and modern. I stayed once in a balcony standard room on the 6th floor (above the main entrance), and the second time I got an upgrade to a suite (which was slightly different than the one you stayed in). I also loved the architecture. The breakfast restaurant was closed during my stay due to COVID so they were serving it to-go from the small Cafe. The people working there were so nice. I'd return in a heartbeat if I was looking to stay in the area. I also saw some Southwest crews checking into this hotel (this was just a few weeks after WN launched service to MIA).
I was looking to move to the Miami area during this time (specifically Coral Gables), and staying here gave me a great impression of the area. In the end, I moved to Brickell since homes in Coral Gables were way to expensive during that time because of the real estate market. I was moving from NYC, so Brickell was a good mix between FL and NYC.
The question is how many points did it cost and was it good value for the use? Many hotels pays for you to spend more points on a more expensive property - value for point vs cash
