Hyatt’s footprint in Los Angeles is growing very nicely, and that’s much needed. The Thompson Hollywood opened in August, andHotel Figueroa in DTLA joined The Unbound Collection from Hyatt in June. There’s another Hyatt in Los Angeles that has opened its doors as of today, and it has a connection to Thompson… sort of.

One hotel in the La area that’s really good is the Hyatt Long Beach. It’s in a great location and it’s pool is quite nice! But it’s just a bit of a walk to the beach.
Tommie not being a part of the Thompson brand makes it easier to check off JdV for those chasing a brand explorer night (like me).
Am I the only one laughing that the pic of the interior atrium view room having mountains in the picture.
Looks like another great Hyatt property coming to LA. Interestingly, it's designed by the same firm that did their new Shay property in Culver City. I stayed there last month and really enjoyed it.
I'm actually at the Shay now and it's my third stay here. It's the best thing to happen to LA for Hyatt in years. Etta is fantastic and the rooms are wonderful. Easy access to the airport and anywhere else in the basin. I'm reluctant to spread the word but it's just too good not to share. Only downside is poor valet parking during peak hours because of Etta and can be bit of a mess...but I expect they will work out the kinks.
Room sizes look similar to Marriott's Moxy and/or aloft brands. I guess they think the demographic that will stay at these could care less about the room size.
I laughed out loud at this and I appreciate this type of humor on the internet.
