Nice Post about the return flt. Their menu is impressive, but with only two customers in the FC cabin, the waste factor must be worse than horrible. As served, the food looks wonderful, save the "soup and auce slop" which is almost unavoidable on an airplace. One tip: When describing yourmenu selections, please find an appropariate phrase to replace "went with." It is more than worn out.

The Wentwith Society (est 1832) respects but kindly disagrees with your suggestion to replace "went with" in lieu of another phrase. "Went with" has been used for decades by royalty, presidents, as well as sports champions (eg "we went with the nickel defence to seal the Super Bowl victory") amongst others. We regard it as a classic, dependable phrase that will enjoy usage for decades to follow.

Ben, can you (as a whole separate post, or set of separate postS) give us a rank order of the best (to worst) int'l first class
cabins/airlines, as well as for Business class?
You can also do it for several categories (e.g., bed/chair comfort, service, ground service)... I'd love for you to do it for both First and Business and keep them separate, as an airline may be great relatively speaking in one but not the other.

@Matrix, no it looks like a C-17 with one engine dismounted. If you look closely you can see the upturned wingtips. UAE purchased some C-17s a few years ago, while the C-5 has never been exported.
I love Etihad Airways. Had flown their First Class once and I have to say the seat is really amazing. Quality of the finishes is incredible. No wonder they've won 3 major awards for their First Class product.
