Guide To Emirates' A380 First Class Shower Spa: An Incredible Amenity
Aviation has come a long way over the years, and airlines have introduced some pretty unbelievable premium cabin amenities. However, in my millions of miles of flying, I’d argue that nothing can compare with the excitement of showering on an Emirates Airbus A380.

I still remember your first ride on their A380 many moons ago and you kept mentioning you giggle every time taking off your clothes and you couldn't believe that that was real! Man it's been that long since I've been here!
Lucky, you have to go back! The fragrances of toiletries and the display container changed last week: lavender and eucalyptus or honeysuckle and neroli. Both smell quite nice, and I like better than the former ones.
"Exclusively on the Airbus A380, first class passengers are also given a tote bag"
I have gotten the tote bag on my last three flights on the 77Ws too, so this isn't strictly true. Or maybe this is a recent policy change.
@ Deo -- That must be a relatively recent change, then. I've just updated the post to reflect that, thanks.
Over time the novelty of the shower wears off. I appreciate it on the slog from the U.S. as the steam from the hot water is very nice after 13 hours of dry cabin air. But honestly less than that and I prefer to just have a shower on arrival or in the hotel. I find the best part of it all is simply the size and niceness of the bathroom. Not having to be a contortionist to change into and out of flight PJ's is awfully nice.
It's not recent at all...and I've posted the same point previously (but I can't blame people for not seeing it considering how bad the "conversation" interface is. They give it on all flights.
Not exclusive to A380 and not new. I’ve been offered a tote bag on EK 777 flights for years.
I've flown EK First once, for my 50th birthday. The bar and shower/large restroom made me practically giggle. I hope to fly the EK A380 in First again. And I suspect I will still feel excited about the shower.
It really is awesome. And the fruit plate waiting for your when you return to your seat is a nice surprise. EK and Etihad are still the only two that have ever tried showers on a380s, right? Like, SQ, LH, etc. no one else considered it?
I took 3 showers on EK in 2023. So refreshing . I love Middle East carriers have eau de toilette spray in the premium cabin lavatories.
Does the attendant mop the floor between uses? I’m an admittedly irrational germaphobe - especially on planes - and I can’t help but think the floors are disgusting. Just showered at Cathay’s lounge in HKG and it was wonderful but I still wondered about the floor and other surfaces. Again, not rational, as hotels can have the same issues, but it dampens the “luxury” quotient for me when I’m worried about how hygienic aviation-related bathrooms are.
How can you forget the Golden Shower service on Air India. It's previously available on 777 and 320.
No, they do not mop the floors, but they dry them. One approach is to wear the slippers if you’re a germaphobe (I’m one, too).
I've used both the Emirates and Etihad 1st class showers, and I don't recall there being a huge difference between the.... the whole concept at showering in flight is just so amazing that the difference almost fades into insignificance.
We have 4 Emirates A380 sectors coming up in F quite soon and we will be definitely showering on the long haul sectors
