I still find it amazing that Singapore can charge $20,000 for a first class ticket and still want you to pay for wi-fi. I wish airlines would do like hotels and either offer free or a price based on status.

I agree: Emirates has it right. I flew them a couple of days ago from Europe to Australia on an A380, and not only was WiFi cheap (with the first 10 MB free), it also worked great. I posted a trip report about it on my blog (with youtube clip): http://theluxurytravelexpert.com/2014/11/12/flight-review-emirates-business-class-airbus-a380/. I also have very good experience with American Airlines onboard WiFi product.

"...Or at least by charging based on usage on the A380..."

Don't mean to be bothersome, but do you mean based on the flight or something along those lines?

Great blog, by the way :)!

@Danray - I completely agree with you, it's ridiculous to charge $20,000 for an airplane ticket and still charge for wi-fi.

In my country, $20,000 can get you 56 (!) at a 5 star hotel. I don't get why someone is convinced to pay the price of 56 5* nights for 30-40 hours at most.
