I tend to think that Stockholm is a pretty underrated destination, at least in summer. For the past several years we’ve seen fairly little transatlantic service to Stockholm from full service airlines. The summer of 2022 will be a different story.

Your statement about configuration is not correct. Delta says its entire longhaul international fleet will have 4 classes by next summer - Delta One, Premium Select, Comfort Plus and regular economy. According to delta.com, the configuration is 26/18/21/151.
This is not a new route for DL. They've flown it at least once before (the last time it was operated with a 757-200ER with lie flat seats). It is an odd route for DL to add, frankly. With AY entering JFK-ARN, SK flying EWR to ARN, and UA restarting seasonal EWR-ARN, the market here is essentially saturated.
Delta did New York to Stockholm seasonally until 2014 or 2015. They eliminated the route when all international flights went to lie-flat seats. Previously, it was a 757 with recliner seats in business in a 2x2 configuration.
I used to fly Delta a bunch between JFK and ARN. It wasn't unusual for DL (out of JFK), CO/UA (out of EWR) and SK (out of EWR) to be flying on the same days to connect NYC with Stockholm.
There was a time when DL was going to even start flying to GOT, but I never saw that happen.
I have also been a regular on DL when JFK-CPH has been around.
I've never liked the single-aisle planes that DL and CO/UA had generally been using for US-Scandinavia flights, but non-stop is non-stop.
This are great news .. 8-9 hrs isn't bad ... Looking forward as I have already planned to travel to New Jersey coming summer
